I don't necessarily have as much of a problem with that idea.
The problem is that religion and spirituality become so tied and tangled with political and social issues that it's difficult to know where one ends and the other begins. And sometimes the offputting thing about religion is that IT doesn't always make a distinction, which I think is the case with Hinduism (traditionally I mean) and with this new form...
but, I can't say I have a problem with the "wandering spirits" idea.
