Cross-posting update
Sep. 12th, 2010 08:59 pmLiveJournal is going to set it up so that you can't cross-post comments on a locked entry at all, even though now you can and it'll link to the entry in question.
We knew that if we kicked a big enough fit, they'd backpedal on this. I'm getting a little tired of "let's use people's privacy to betatest our shit because we can't be arsed to consider these things or ask our users beforehand."
I'm not going to leave LJ over this, but with each screwup I get closer and closer. At this point I think it's largely inevitable that eventually I'll be at DW instead. As a result, I'm going to continue cross-posting to keep my two journals linked so that when that time comes, I'll have laid enough groundwork that I won't be leaving much behind.
So yeah. There's an update for you on the cross-posting nonsense.
